Low Back Lovin

I scored this dress at TJ Maxx! I am in love with it. It's BCBGeneration so of course it is great quality. I also love the fun color. I didn't know if I would look good in this color but it actually works. That is why I always tell people that I'm shopping with... you have to TRY IT ON! Seriously, try it on. I thought my wedding dress looked awful on the hanger but once I put it on it looked stunning. So if your on the fence about something, try it on. You should even try things on that you think you would look awful in but you can think of someone else that it would good on. You may be pleasantly surprised. Anywho, back to this fabulous dress. I love the back! (Excuse my tan line please). I love the defined waist and the draping. It is also a great length. I really liked styling this dress with feminine details like my pearl like necklace, cat eye sunnies, structured bag, and dressy flats. Keep it classy!

Sweater Weather

Yup, we are starting to have some chilly days here and of course I'm all over it. Fall is just the best season for fashion because you get to layer. I used to be so scared of layering- it's quite intimidating to coordinate so many pieces. It doesn't have to be all matchy matchy. In fact, try not to do that but instead put together colors that go well together and add different textures. I'm in love with chunky knits- they look so cozy! Be sure that your look still looks complete when taking off your jacket or scarf, etc. That's the key to layering!

Mixed Metals

The weather finally cooled down! You have no idea how happy I was. I was singing and dancing and jumping for joy. It was around 75 degrees and although that may not seem very cold, it is for central Cali where we have been experiencing scorching temperatures in the high 90s! Yuck. To celebrate the cooler weather I pulled out some pants and this cute 3/4 sleeve sweater from H&M. I just love the zipper detail in the back.  Guess what?! You don't have to choose between gold or silver accessories! I love mixing and matching to create more interest in an outfit. Here I layered a navy and gold chain necklace over a silver spiked necklace. Then I continued to mix and match gold rings with silver bracelets. Are you breaking into your fall wardrobe or still wearing summer clothes?

Going Out

I'm a sucker for low back tops! I especially love this one that I borrowed from my sister in law (she has great taste!) because the front is very conservative. Business in the front, party in the back! I always think it's best to go for a classy look so because the top had a low back & the skirt was lace (sexy& sassy) I decided to go with flats instead of heels.

Unexpected Red Lip

I wasn't planning on doing red lips with this outfit but after I put it on it just felt right. I love the way this outfit is kind of unexpected (especially with the red lip color) but it goes together so well. I've been learning more and more that fashion isn't matchy matchy. It's more of putting together a great palette of colors and textures. I think the reason why this works together is because 1) red lips are timeless 2) it's a very ladylike ensemble 3) the colors don't clash. Try wearing red lipstick with something you didn't expect. It may be your best decision yet!

Wine Country

For Labor Day weekend Taylor and I went and visited our friends that live in Sonoma. I love that everywhere you go it is lush and beautiful. If you have a chance to go the the Bouchon Bakery you should.. you won't regret it! I had my first macaroon. Yum!! I really liked the espresso one.
