Cool Girl

I like this graphic tee paired with this ladylike skirt. Plus it's so comfy which is an extra bonus. I added some color, a fun braid side pony, and lipstick & I was good to go!

Trendy Short Suit

This is my take on the short suit trend. Normally people wear the same pattern/color of shorts & blazer but here I paired a blazer with a printed short. I think it mimics the short suit look because of the shorts. They are fun but high quality material & are more dressy. I love this look! It's full of personality but refined. Definitely my favorite outfit to date. I borrowed these shoes & I'm pretty sure I need to buy some for myself because they are amazing!

Exploring

One of my favorite things to do is to explore new places. Since moving, that's what we've been trying to do & it is so exciting! This is a great outfit to walk around and check things out in. It's comfy, classic & dressed down with my white sneakers. Another thing for me is that I love to accessorize with rings when I know I'll be doing things. Sometimes statement necklaces or earrings can feel too much. Rings can bring your outfit from boring to fun without being over the top. Also, I can't get enough of neon nails!

No Heat Curls Tutorial

I dye my hair all of the time because the color red fades so quickly. I also love to have my hair curly and have been curling my hair every time I take a shower. These two things have taken a toll on my poor hair. 4 weeks ago, I decided it was time to take care of my hair so I put down the hairdryer & the flat iron & the curler. Unfortunately my natural hair is very frizzy (from the damage & split ends) & boring. My solution was to find a way to curl my hair without heat. After some trial & error, I came up with this & I hope to find more ways to do different curls without heat. Striped Shirt Staple

My sister-in-law & I both share a love for fashion. On Friday, she calls me & tells me our H&M was selling everything on sale for 50% the markdown price. What do I do? I make a beeline for H&M! Let's just say it was a great day :) I got this amazing shirt for $3.50. This shirt is a wardrobe staple & I have no idea how I have lived without a shirt like this for so long.

(Maxi)mize Your Wardrobe

I am officially a Sacramentan! Apparently that is what you call someone who lives in Sacramento. Although, I would like to believe we are called Sacramento-ians or Sacramento-ites because it sounds so silly. Unfortunately, things are halfway unpacked & halfway because we will move into a permanent house in August. I will do my best to keep blogging but I can't guarantee a ton of posts. Sorry!

I wanted to give you all a few tips on how to MAXIMIZE your wardrobe. I try to do this all of the time but I have to be very intentional right now when I am still living out of boxes & money is very tight!

1. Be creative- This is my number one. You've got to think out of the box. Use your brain power to think of new ways to switch up the outfits you already love to wear. It takes time to put outfits together when you don't have a million options. For me, I have to set myself up for success by planning a time to plan my outfits out for the week. Can you tell I'm a natural planner? I know some of you are not wired like this but this is just an example that works for me. When I wake up in the morning & have somewhere to be, I am not necessarily super creative. So that is why I plan all of my outfits out when I'm feeling creative & have time to think about it.
2. Get inspired- This is part of number one because in order to get the creative juices flowing you need to be inspired. Find outfits you like through Pinterest, magazines, friends, or blogs. Mimic them as much as you can without going out and buying things. Sometime all it takes for me is to see an outfit where I own one piece of the outfit (or something very similar in shape or color or feeling) and create the rest of the outfit based on the inspiration.
3. Keep it timeless- When you do decide to spend money on a piece of clothing, make your dollars go farther by purchasing an item that is timeless. I'm not saying to never buy something that is super trendy or edgy. I am just saying that if you are going to buy something expensive, it should be versatile, it should fit you correctly, it should be something absolutely love and it should err on the timeless side. If you want to get something that is trendy, try to find it on sale or similarly looking inexpensive version.
4. Accessorize- I keep saying this, but accessories are everything! They can create a completely different feeling/dimension to an outfit. Frankly I have a tendency to put accessories on the back burner when shopping, but you shouldn't.
I hope these tips were helpful for you. Thanks for reading :) Be sure to click the blue button to Join this Site or enter your email into the Follow by Email to get blogpost notifications!

Big Ballerina Bun Tutorial

I wanted to show you guys how I usually do my hair when I put it in a bun. It is so easy & you don't need a sock or a foam thingy to create a big bun. I hope you enjoy!

Sporty Chic

We just moved to another city and that means lots and lots of packing and absolutely no time to get dolled up. Sigh.. Plus sometimes you want to look fashionable without all the fuss. This look is just that. Baseball hats are very popular whether they are simple & plain or if they have a logo on them. Sneakers are filling up the pages of fashion magazines. Everyone wants to have that sporty chic thing.

Tips for this to look fashion forward: 1. The pieces must be refined. If you have chunky heavy duty running shoes on, it won't look as chic. Also, everything should fit well. If your wearing a tee that is too big, you will look sloppy.  2. Keep it simple. I have a logo on my hat so everything else is plain. 3. Step up the look with lipstick and delicate jewelry.
