This outfit makes me so so so excited for spring. I almost typed summer instead of spring and who am I kidding, I am not ready for the triple digits. Spring it where it is at. 75 and sunny! I titled this post staples because there are a few things that I already know I am going to stick to for the warmer weather: 1. blush/neutral tones 2. white everything, especially denim 3. fresh cuts like off-the-shoulder tops 4. hats! yup, not quitting hats anytime soon. Do any of you guys watch Carly Cristman on YouTube? She's got this whole theory about hats. She calls it the hat affect. People get blinded by hats and they instantly elevated any look and make you look trendier and more polished. I totally agree! Loving hats and it won't stop. Plus, it masks dirty hair.

I am in love with these ear climbers from Rocksbox. If you haven't heard about Rocksbox, then you are really missing out! It's basically a membership for designer jewelry on loan. You get sent a box with three pieces of designer jewelry based on your style and what is on your wish list. Then you get to wear them for as long as you want and then when you want three new pieces, you simply send it back in their already prepped envelope. You can also buy any of the items and you just keep it rather than sending it back. So yeah, I've been loving getting new accessories every time I want. And getting that package in the mailbox is the best part of my week. I love getting mail! Get your first Rocksbox free with my code: thestylepaigexoxo !

There are so many gorgeous new spring clothes out now- culottes, crop tops, frayed denim, pastel colors, white everything. I spend almost every day staring and drooling over new arrivals (seriously, I work at Nordstrom..sigh) but I've been trying to go to those heavier pieces in my wardrobe before I dive into all of the newness. I just want to get as much use out of these pieces that I can wear now before it gets too hot to even wear jackets.

Like I had mentioned in my previous posts, Heather Armstrong took Taylor and I's engagement and wedding photos and she has a special place in my heart. She's extremely talented and also an inspiring person. I just love her! Taylor was with me when I went to model for her photography class and I was very excited when she told Taylor to jump in a couple of the photos too!! Of course he was wearing his Gas Monkey Garage shirt ha! I'm thankful that I get to be his wife and that I get to grow old with my best friend.

I tried out a couple things in the studio with Matt and it was a lot of fun! I've got to say that modeling is difficult when your background in a black wall and you don't have a ton of space to move around. I'm digging the off the shoulder tops and dresses and so I grabbed a couple from Forever 21 recently. This one has the bell bottom sleeves and I actually paired them with high waisted bell bottom pants for that 70s vibe! Thanks for reading xx.

Here is the second look from that shoot I did with Heather Armstrong Photography. I loved the spot that we took pictures back in the woods where it was sort of dramatic.
I've been wanting to find a two piece set and I'm loving this one from Forever 21. I love the floral print with the edgy details of the black choker, leather jacket and booties. LOVE LOVE LOVE spring and this outfit. Thanks for following along xx.

Like I had mentioned in my previous post, my wedding and engagement photographer Heather Armstrong invited me to model at for her photography class, and when Heather asks you that, you do it! A couple things you should know: 1. I am not a model. 2. I sort of cringe inside when I am the center of attention. It brings up all of my insecurities and I'm usually wondering if people see my flaws. 3. I am a firm believer in doing things out side of your comfort zone. "Getting comfortable being uncomfortable" has been what I strive for. Just so you know, aiming for that is worth it! You gain confidence after doing that thing that puts you outside your comfort zone plus that thing that was scary is now no longer scary. I think that is the one thing that I wish I had learned when I was younger because fear has a way of keeping you from the best things in life. I don't want to miss out on any of the pinch-me moments because I didn't say yes to something that intimidated me.

Now let's get to the outfit, because that is why you're really here... am I right?! This army green Top Shop jacket was love at first sight. I work in retail, so I would pass it almost every day. I saw it styled on the mannequins for months and I longed for it. Okay, I'm getting dramatic but I am semi serious. I finally gave in and bought this gem and it does not disappoint! I can definitely see myself wearing it a lot next winter. It is also probably the warmest jacket I own. The other day I wore it at a night beach bonfire with shorts and it kept me perfectly warm from the coastal breeze. While I was buying this jacket, of course I found other things I loved like these high waisted jeans. Now these pants go with my theme: out of my comfort zone. I always felt self consious in them and thought my legs/ hip region wasn't thin enough to wear them. To hell with that! Ha!
